Me and my best friend Matt constantly exchange our ideas on what is stupid and what isn’t. We also typically laugh at the same things. I truly believe most of the things we have observed and laugh at are a result of our love for Seinfeld and observational humor in general. This next story is a product of some of the many things we discuss and laugh at.

We grew up going to church, and still do. If there’s one thing we’ve noticed from pastors over the years, it’s that the relevance of the Bible and whatever Billy Graham has said or done are of equal value. Ex: “We should be living like this and blah blah blah blah blah! THAT’S what the BIIIIIBLE SAYS!” = “Once there was a guy who did this thing….blah blah blah…we should live our lives like that! You know who that was? BILLY GRAHAM!” “The Bible doesn’t teach that…Billy Graham doesn’t teach that…where’d we get that from?!” Anytime a pastor says anything about Billy Graham I just chuckle…can’t help it.

I was sitting in my internship lab the other day, and a lady from some entertainment company was talking about what she liked in an intern. She then went on to tell us that she thought the generation sitting in that class room felt “entitled” to things, and didn’t want to work hard. This only spurred me to want to work even harder since that is not a category of person that I want to be put into. I’ve pretty much faced the fact that you get out of college, don’t make any money, don’t whine about it, work hard, and God willing…you’ll have a decent income one day. Most people that do what I want to do probably don’t get steady incomes until they’re in their mid to late 30s…MAYBE. If they’re lucky. I’ve always just thought that when the hard work pays off, you’ll appreciate what you’ve earned so much more. Just my opinion.

I’m not sure why I like politics…I think it’s more that I like political theory, just not politicians. Maybe my opinionated nature just naturally leans toward it?? I tried not to like politics for awhile, but I can’t do it. I think that unless you have educated yourself on it…then you shouldn’t voice your opinion on it. Just…keep your mouth shut. I believe in looking at both sides of the argument, and going beyond regurgitating what the pundit is saying. Two of my professors have told me to go into politics or into economics…but that would be a waste of my time and I would most assuredly pull my hair out. Music is funner anyway.

I want to restore an old muscle car. I like to work with my hands, and it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. I probably won’t actually do it until I’m an old man, but I can dream about it.

I’ve been unfaithful in my trips to the gym as of late. Fortunately, I haven’t gained any weight, but I’m going to have to kick start it again before I go back for thanksgiving, and before Christmas.

My friends Matt and Emily came to hang last weekend. It was a good time even though the weather sucked. We did go hiking, and got some serious exercise, at a local trail. I also introduced them to the Pancake Pantry…which is important.

This weekend, my mom and grandparents are here. We introduced my grandparents to the Pancake Pantry, and, needless to say, it won their approval. We take breakfast seriously in our family, and that’s especially true of my mom’s father. Although, he tends to take any eating opportunity seriously. True American.

Yes, it’s true…I’m a capitalist…a dreaded capitalist. How can I subscribe to the very system that got us into this economic mess? Well, either I’m an idiot, or capitalism didn’t cause this economic mess. I’m going to argue the latter.

Capitalism is based around human action. Man acts out of self-interest. It’s the way we’re created. The system was created to compliment that as best it could.

Now people seem to think now that capitalism somehow created this whole mess, and as a result of Michael Moore’s latest endeavor, I’m sure more will too.

I’m going to breakdown this financial crisis, but before I wrap it in a nutshell, I’m going to explain a few things.

Low interest rates come from high savings. The higher the savings rate, the lower the interest rate the bank will put on loans. When rates are low, businesses will take out loans and start producing things. This is how it’s supposed to work in a capitalist society.

Did that happen here in the United States prior to the financial crisis? No. Our savings were low, and Alan Greenspan decided it would be a good idea to lower the interest rates to get the economy moving! What this did is create the illusion, or bubble, that we had a high savings rate. It also essentially created money out of thin air. Banks handed out loans left and right to a bunch of special people who had no means to pay for it.

Then we hit the recession where all bad businesses that were mismanaged and sucked on the tit of the bubble should have been liquidated. That’s what capitalism would’ve done. But did that happen? No. The Government, and the Federal Reserve decided to step in and bail out these companies by giving them MORE money. Now…I missed the part where that is the free market’s fault.

On top of all this, I want to also add that a true capitalist society would have SOUND MONEY THAT IS BACKED BY COMMODITY! A private bank issues our currency, congress has NO control over what they do, the people have NO control over what they do, they answer to no one, and somehow people think it was capitalism. There is nothing free market about our monetary system at all. Since the Fed’s inception our dollar has gone down in value 95%. We’re a slave to the debt of this country because of the Fed. There is nothing free market about that.

I’ve watched this at least 10 times…and I still laugh EVERY time.

Well since I’ve moved back, I’ve dropped 15 pounds.

How did I do this? I exercised, and I changed my eating habits a bit. I ran 12-15 miles a week, and I lift twice a week. Takes SWEAT! Will I gain it back over christmas break? It’s possible…I’m kind of worried about that actually haha. I think I’ll try to drop another 10 or so.

Cardio exercise is extremely good for. It’s helps your heart pump blood more efficiently to deliver oxygen to the rest of your body. The more you do it, your heart develops more veins and what not to pump blood easier. I have a friend, and his dad eats a bowl of ice cream every night. He also rides his bike all the time, and has for years. Every time he goes to the doctor…he gets a good report.

My genetics aren’t in favor of me in terms of blood pressure and cholesterol. So I’m going to have to do cardio to keep my heart in good shape! So that’s motivation number 2 behind all of this.

Being a single man means that I had to step it up in the kitchen when I moved off. Cooking is easy…all you have to do is not be an idiot and follow directions.

I’m a huge fan of curry…my dad’s mom made this curry dish my whole life…she still makes it better from years and years of experience…but I can hold my own I believe.

You’ll need this stuff:

Then follow the directions!

Cut up yer meat! I like pork and shrimp!

You will definitely need an onion…chop er’ up.

And you can add your veggies of choice the equation. I like carrots and potatoes.

Put the onions, and meat in a pan and cook for around 3-4 minutes.

Add yer other stuff.

I cover it after this for a little while…not too long.

Then add water and bring it to a boil.

After it has boiled…add your chunks of curry and stir in. It’ll look like this.

In the meantime…you should’ve made rice so you can serve this curry wonderfulness over it.

Why I have chosen the title of this entry to be the slogan of the Macho Man Randy Savage…I don’t know.

I’m going to be slaving all weekend over a budget plan for my 6 hour accounting class, and a marketing exam on tuesday. What a wonderful life!!! I’m so burned out on school…I thought about going back to get my masters at one point….probably not gonna do it. Now I do LIKE my school, I’m just sick of the work involved with school. At least my education isn’t crappy though…that’s a good thing. And as much as my tuition is…it had better have some dang great quality!

Parking at Belmont is horrendous…but I have found a secret parking spot that I am really happy about. Wanna know where it is? Too bad! The problem with parking is that Belmont has accepted 9 jillion freshman, and there aren’t enough spaces to go around. Until they get this parking garage done…it’s going to be horrendous for those poor souls who don’t know where my secret spot is. Unfortunately…some folks have caught on to this spot. They’re probably telling allllll their friends. Idiots.

My internet is out, so I’m at the school as I’m writing this. My DSL modem would lose its signal off and on throughout the day, and it would really aggravate me. So after a week I decided to call ATT yesterday. I called them back 4 times because I didn’t have suffice information for them to give me a new login to my modem. So finally after I finally obtained the piece of information I needed, I find out that all their servers are working fine so it must be something specifically wrong with my wiring or something…so a tech guy has to come out tomorrow  (friday) and fix it.

It’s good to be internetless for awhile I suppose. It helps me to focus on working on other things instead of going to youtube to watch Ron Paul videos or a Steely Dan concert. After summer and what not…I’m finally feeling like I’m back into the swing of things here 100%. Going back to nashville after the summer was kind of similar to when I left the first time last august…but I’m all adjusted now I think.

I’m ready for it to get colder….now!

Scenario There is a question asker who likes to hear his voice in one of your college courses. He/she constantly asks questions with lots of jargon to try to impress everyone in the class that he/she knows more than anyone else. There is one in my accounting class…before he asked a question today he said “This may be a little bit advanced, but…” And I can’t remember what the question was…but I was annoyed.

Scenario 9) You wake up in the morning and pour your favorite bowl of cereal (Cinnamon Toast Crunch…Mini wheats..etc)…and there’s no milk.

Scenario 10) Someone going slow in the fast lane, and not bothering to speed up to pass the huge semi truck.

Scenario 11) Itunes constantly needing an update.
